Dear Peaceful Warriors, isn’t it surreal that women and men still don’t have equal rights and opportunities in the 21st Century?!?!? “If not now, when?” asked Emma Watson at the UN Summit.
Friday 25th November is designated as the 'International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women' by the United Nations. This day is about reflecting on all the possibilities we can build to empower women and to stop bullies and/ or criminals to violate women's rights!
“We are all entitled to human rights. These include the right to live free from violence and discrimination; to enjoy the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health; to be educated; to own property; to vote; and to earn an equal wage.” Amnesty International
Too many women are not free of their movements, nor free of speech, their life would be threatened, too many live with that fear everyday; others can’t even express themselves at home- if not at home, where? It does not feel right to hear about these, to read that too many are deprived of their fundamental human rights, it feels indecent to witness their sufferings only when they have completely faded... Unfortunately, this suffering happens daily, invisible for us to notice; what happens when home is hell!?!? Life is too short to live in inhumane, unloving and disrespectful conditions…. "If not me, who? If not now, when?" Emma Watson
