Why Is Awa Choreographing on Janet Jackson?

Happy Easter Sunday, Mindful Humans!!

Finally the first Sunday of the Afro Dance Fusion: Season 3 !! My heart and body are still buzzing of happiness and excitement!!

Indeed, we have 20 Dance Participants on our Register (whoop whoop). We were expecting 8 today. We were a lovely bunch of 6 practising together, we missed a few Dance Participants as unfortunately the whole venue was closed, it is a bit of a pity that our project has been approved to run within those dates and we were not informed we will not be able to access our regular Dance Space. But we are resilient and flexible Warrior Dancers and we headed to the park where we rehearsed the first section of our new choreography.

Worry not, if you missed the first session, pictures and videos will be shared within the Afro Dance Fusion Group in the Dancers' Area on The Ojas Centre's website; as long as you completed and submitted your Health Form.

It was really positive that you all seemed to resonate with this delicate and meaningful theme and it is so exciting that some of you are looking forward to joining The Ojas Centre's Dance Theatre Company. Janet and I have found a venue and we will keep you updated on the day we will start rehearsal and the day we will have general classes for beginners/ intermediate.

Thank you so much everyone for your kindness in regards to The Ojas Centre's project(s), please appreciate that your support is important to the Team. It is actually vital! Indeed, for the past 3 years The Ojas Centre has been delivering FREE Health & Wellbeing classes to the community (bear in mind, until this year, Awa was not even paid for delivering her classes), the Team would like to continue to provide services accessible to all, you can support The Ojas Centre's Team by purchasing items for Awa's Boutique which will help us secured our next course's hiring space, venue to perform as well as props for our upcoming performances :

As part of the Afro Dance Fusion course, we meet up and go together to see a performance or an exhibition which may inspire us with our piece. The upcoming social event is entitled 'Far From Home' by the Alleyne Dance sisters:“Far From Home brings to the stage the humanity of told and untold stories by voices not always heard.” The tickets cost from £11. Please, register your interest now:
