About the event

Benji Reid's photograph Holding on to Daddy (2016) won the Wellcome Photography Prize 2020, mental health category, and is on display in Bethlem Museum of the Mind's A way from home exhibition. This event covers the processes involved in making this image, and other self-portraits. It will be an intimate portrayal of an artist working in the margins.

A pioneer of hip-hop theatre and culture in the United Kingdom, Reid describes himself as a 'choreo-photolist' a term her coined to refer to the practice of merging theatre and choreography into his photography.
