About the event

Welcome Dancers!!


My name is Awa, I started teaching in my parents' Performing Arts School 17 years ago and I have been teaching since then... I am a qualified Dance Teacher and I am currently studying a MA in World Performances, Theatres & Cultures at Goldsmiths University.


I am from mixed cultural heritages: from West Africa, Brazil, Guadeloupe, France & GB. My Afro Dance Fusion dance styles are a reflection of my cultural mixed- heritages.


I also rejoice in Oriental Dance styles aka Belly Dancing but for Dance Theatre as an expression of FEMINITY - I do not promote sexuality- but I rather focus on meaningful stories, invisible voices, social injustice & justice; in other words, Conscious Dancing or Mindful Dancing.
